Siemens Hearing Instruments will showcase its range of Retail and NHS products at this year’s British Academy of Audiology (BAA) Conference, 9-11 November 2011 in Llandudno, North Wales. Innovations designed to embrace lifestyles will include: IMPACT hearing instruments; Aquaris™, the first waterproof, dust and shock-resistant device; and miniTek™, a wireless connecter of compatible hearing instruments to mobile phones, music systems or TV.
Aquaris introduces life without limits. Its robust and waterproof design repels dust, perspiration and dirt. It features a special casing with a sealed battery compartment, a watertight but air-permeable microphone membrane and a protective cover. As a result, it is ideal for anyone with hearing impairment that has an active lifestyle or spends time in a wet or dusty environment.
Visitors to the Siemens stand can expect demonstrations of miniTek, a highly flexible and innovative device that uses Bluetooth® technology to wirelessly communicate sound between a hearing instrument and MP3 players, mobile phones, TVs, home stereo systems and other audio sources. miniTek is compatible with both Aquaris and in early 2012, IMPACT.
The IMPACT product family, which offers increased discretion, better sound quality and improved technology, will also feature at BAA. The range consists of instant fit and conventional behind-the-ear (BTE) devices, industry leading custom hearing solutions, plus a receiver-in-canal (RIC) instrument that is the smallest housing offered to the NHS. The custom products are available in completely-in-canal (CIC), Canal and Full Shell models with all the features of IMPACT BTEs, including compatibility with Tek and e2e wireless™ synchronisation of left to right ear.
“The range of Siemens devices that will be showcased at this year’s BAA Conference are developed specifically to suit not only patients’ hearing loss but also their lifestyles,” states Trevor Andrews, Managing Director of Siemens Hearing Instruments. “Today, many hearing instrument wearers want to hear well without compromising their appearance or interests. This is why Siemens pushes the boundaries of innovation to offer instruments and accessories that deliver better hearing, improved sound comfort and increased individuality.”
